Lilongwe Malawi

The city of Lilongwe is the largest and the capital of Malawi. The city is located in the central part of the country and that is why in 1974 was elected to replace Zomba which until then was the capital. The city is located on the banks of the Lilongwe River, near the border with Mozambique and Zambia. We found two very distinct in the city areas on the one hand is the old city full of stores, markets and is seen the more authentic and less developed part, on the other hand is the new city where is the seat of the Government, different embassies and large supermarkets.
